Summary:

The Wave Master is durable, convenient and gives the user significant resistance for developing power and endurance. It's basically portable and can be used at home, gym or dojo.

The Wave Master punching bag is a convenient alternative to the standard traditional punching bag that had to be hung from the ceiling or some other permanent structure. In contrast, the Wave Master is portable and easy to move wherever you want it. It’s totally convenient, especially when compared to the traditional bag that is heavy and hard to move around and usually kept in a permanent spot devoted to it, so basically takes up more space.

The Wave Master is a punching bag, which is adjustable in height, that sits on a base that can be filled with water or sand to add weight to the bottom so that when you are punching and kicking it there is decent resistance and you get a work-out. To move it to a corner to open up space in the work-out area, you tip it on one of its corners so that it’s at a 45 degree angle and roll it away.

It can easily be transported by emptying the base of its water and then loading it in the truck or SUV and be on your way to your next workout or demonstration.

I prefer the Wave Master XXL, because the bag is long enough to allow for low kicks, similar to the old Muay Thai Kick Boxing long hanging bags. However, I still love the standard and original Wave Master which has a more substantial base and so more resistance to your punches, and good for punching and medium height to high kicks.

There are many benefits to punching the Wave Master bag. (You might also want to consider the Everlast version of this bag, from a company that has made high quality equipment for the world’s top fighters for around a century now.)

Cardio Work Out

Punching the bag really works the heart and lungs. You use all your muscles: Your legs, glutes, abs, arms. Give it 5 minutes, see how you feel. It’s truly a work out.

Strength

As stated, your using all your muscles when you hit the bag. The base of the bag being stable, offers very good resistance to your hits; so muscles really get worked.

Conditioning

The body, the muscles, the joints, the bones all have to get used to the jarring and impact of hitting an resistant object. This aint shadow-boxing!

Speed

Since the main point of hitting the bag is to develop power, you naturally also develop speed. Part of the formula for power is speed: Power is speed and mass.

Body Mechanics

For your punches to have power, you must use your whole body, turn your hips and put everything into it.

Form

To hit the bag without getting hurt, you have to keep your wrists straight, have the elbow tucked and in line correctly, and hit with the right part of the fist. Form is a must to keep from getting injured and you either learn the hard way or give your attention to proper form.

So, the Wave Master is definitely a valuable addition to your martial arts supplies and equipment, for a good overall training regimen.
